Staff Wellbeing - Employee Assistance Programme
The University provides an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for colleagues through an external provider. The employee assistance programme provides a range of services and support, including counselling, across a number of wellbeing themes. What University Staff Can Do:
- Listen
- Give student time to talk
- Be sympathetic and not dismissive
- Understand the situation from the student's point of view
- Make appropriate referrals
What University Staff Cannot Do:
- Solve the student's problem
- Take responsibility for the student's emotional state or actions
