T2G: Transition to Glasgow - Postgrad Edition
A unique pre-sessional course for postgraduates at the University of Glasgow
Transition to Glasgow: Postgraduate Edition (T2G: Postgrad) is all about helping you make a successful transition to postgraduate-level study at the University of Glasgow.
The course runs across four days from 12 to 15 August 2024 – so, just before you start your postgraduate programme with us.
T2G: Postgrad is a fully online course open to all new postgraduate taught students beginning courses with us in the 2024/25 session – so, you don’t have to be physically in Glasgow yet and you can join T2G: Postgrad from wherever you are in the world!
The course will cover key topics to aid your transition to postgraduate study, such as:
- Undergraduate vs. Postgraduate Level Study
- Academic Culture in a UK Higher Education Context
- Studying at Postgraduate Level as an International Student
- Essential IT Skills for Postgraduates
- Community Building and Wellbeing
- Employability & PhD Application Preparation
The course follows a conference format, so you’ll be able to attend the core T2G: Postgrad sessions and then choose additional sessions that are most useful for you based on your individual needs and interests. Following a conference-like format also means T2G: Postgrad will give you your first taste of being treated as a postgraduate-level student at the University, providing the opportunity for you to meet fellow postgraduate students and key members of UofG staff before your course begins!
