The British University in Dubai (BUiD)
The British University in Dubai (BUiD) is a not-for-profit institution, which was established in 2003 to be the region’s leading research-based university, facilitating world-class education, training and research. It provides an important and growing community and resource for young professionals, leading academics, corporate managers and aspiring leaders of all descriptions. Working in partnership with leading UK universities, BUiD offers cutting-edge education and research in key disciplines.
The University of Glasgow (UofG) was one of the UK's first leading universities to collaborate with BUiD through a Concordat agreement in 2014.
In May 2019, UofG signed a partnership agreement with BUiD. This will enable students who have successfully completed two years study on recognised courses at BUiD to gain entry to Level 3 (Honours) of our BSc (Hons)/MSci in Computing Science or BSc (Hons)/MSci Software Engineering programmes.
The first intake of students from BUiD will commence studies in Glasgow in September 2020.
Student eligibility
For entry to year three of the UofG programmes in Computing Science or Software Engineering, you must achieve an equivalent of a mid 2:1 or higher, i.e. 65% or greater, in your two years study at BUiD on the Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence or Computing Science & Software Engineering programme.
You must also provide evidence of English language proficiency. This will normally be equivalent to an IELTS qualification of 6.5 overall with no subtest below 6.0.
How to apply
Following confirmation from UofG that you have attained the required standard for entry into Year 3, you will then be required to apply via the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) for formal admission to the UofG not later than 30 June in the year prior to commencement of study. The minimum length of study will be two years for the award of an honours degree. You will follow the standard UofG curriculum for the third and fourth years of the degree programme, or three years for MSci, and will be assessed for the award of your degree on exactly the same basis as all other students on the programme.

Tuition fees and scholarship
Students admitted to the UofG programme are responsible for the standard annual overseas tuition fee. You will receive an annual £2,000 University of Glasgow - BUiD Scholarship which will be remunerated as a stipend via our student system, MyCampus.
You will also receive a one-off allowance in the amount of £1,500 to support research collaboration which can be claimed against the Computing Science consumables budget.
