What do early career people need to do to influence the food system?

Early Career Network Webinar - What do early career people need to do to influence the food system?

Date & Time: 20th August 2024, 1pm

Join us for our August webinar hosted by the SCAF Early Career Network. Hear from David Thomson, CEO of the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) Scotland, about how those early in their careers can make sure their work counts.

As someone earlier in their careers it can be hard to think of how our work can make a difference to policy and practice. In this webinar, we will hear from David Thomson from the Food and Drink Federation on what he thinks it takes to ensure our work influences the food system – based on his experience as a government official heading up food policy and his current work supporting the food and drink industry from the industry side.

SCAF Webinar Series

We host a series of online webinars every 6 weeks to showcase the depth and breadth of work relevant to the alliance. Webinars are held either during the working day at 1pm, or in the evening, at 7pm. Each webinar will feature two speakers presenting for ~20 minutes, followed by a discussion and Q&A.

We are looking for speakers! Whilst we aim for a research and innovation focus, we would like to feature the work across sectors and disciplines within the broader topic of food. Early career members are particularly encouraged to come forward.
